TERMS OF SERVICE
These Terms of Service establish the conditions applicable to the use of the services provided by L2Free. By using L2Free services, the user acknowledges these Terms and agrees to comply with the conditions established herein. These Terms should be read together with the Server Rules and Privacy Policy.
1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
These Terms of Service establish the conditions applicable to access to and use of the website, game servers, accounts, systems, communities and other services provided by L2Free, including the Bartz and Lionna worlds. By creating an account, accessing the website, connecting to any L2Free world or using any service related to the project, the user acknowledges that they have read, understood and agreed to these Terms of Service, the Server Rules and the Privacy Policy. If the user does not agree with these conditions, they should not use L2Free services.
2. THE SERVICE
L2Free is an independent Lineage II private server project, operated by its own team and intended for the entertainment of its community. Access to the game is provided free of charge. Certain optional features, benefits or virtual items may be made available through contribution or donation systems intended to support the maintenance and development of the project. The administration may modify, update, suspend or discontinue, in whole or in part, features, systems, events, content or services whenever necessary for maintenance, security, balance or the evolution of the project. Permanent or uninterrupted access to the services is not guaranteed.
3. L2FREE WORLDS
L2Free may operate different worlds, seasons or game modes, each with its own characteristics, settings, economy and specific rules. The project is currently structured as follows: Bartz — Eternal World: L2Free's permanent world, intended for long-term continuity. Lionna — Seasonal World: a seasonal world developed in cycles and intended to provide new journeys and periodic fresh starts. Seasonal worlds may be integrated into the permanent world according to the project's planning. Characters, items, clans, progress or other elements may be transferred or adapted during this process according to technical and operational rules established by the administration. The characteristics of each world may evolve over time.
4. ACCOUNTS AND CREDENTIALS
Users are responsible for the accounts they create and for the security of their access credentials. Credentials should not be disclosed to third parties. Any activity performed through an account may be considered the responsibility of its holder. The sharing, lending, sale, purchase or transfer of accounts is undertaken at the risk of the parties involved and may not be recognized or protected by the administration. L2Free is not responsible for losses resulting from the voluntary sharing of credentials, use of insecure passwords, access by third parties authorized by the user or other situations caused by insufficient account protection. The administration may request information reasonably necessary to verify account ownership before carrying out procedures related to account recovery or security.
5. CONDUCT AND ACCEPTABLE USE
When using L2Free services, users must comply with the Server Rules and instructions published by the administration. The L2Free website, servers or systems may not be used to: - deliberately exploit bugs or vulnerabilities; - attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, servers, databases or systems; - deliberately interfere with the availability or operation of the services; - use mechanisms, programs or methods prohibited by the Server Rules; - engage in fraud, misrepresentation or deliberate attempts to deceive the administration; - use the services for unlawful activities; - deliberately harm the project or its infrastructure through technical means. Any discovered bug, vulnerability or abnormal behavior should be reported to the administration and must not be exploited for the user's own benefit or that of third parties. Specific rules concerning gameplay, player behavior, chat, automation, trading and other in-game activities are established in the Server Rules.
6. ITEMS, CHARACTERS AND VIRTUAL ASSETS
Accounts, characters, currencies, equipment, items and other elements existing within the game are virtual components of the service. Possession or use of these elements within the game does not constitute ownership of the software, database or infrastructure in which they are stored. The administration may, when technically necessary or as a result of rule enforcement, correct, remove, restore, transfer or adjust virtual elements. Balance changes, bug fixes, economic changes, merges, seasons or updates may modify the availability, usefulness, quantity or relative value of items and other in-game resources. The value perceived or attributed by players to any virtual item does not constitute a guarantee of permanent value.
7. CONTRIBUTIONS, DONATIONS AND VIRTUAL BENEFITS
L2Free may provide optional means of financial contribution intended to support the maintenance, infrastructure, promotion and development of the project. When a contribution is associated with credits, currencies, items or virtual benefits, those elements are provided exclusively for use within L2Free services and do not constitute currency, an investment, a bank balance or a financial asset. Making a contribution does not grant the user ownership of the project, servers or services, nor does it guarantee preferential treatment in the enforcement of rules. Virtual benefits may be adjusted as a result of corrections, balancing, updates or changes to the server structure. Questions related to payments, delivery or other requests should be addressed through the official support channels.
8. REFUNDS AND PAYMENT DISPUTES
Contributions made to L2Free are intended to support the maintenance, infrastructure, promotion and development of the project and, once processed and the corresponding virtual benefits have been provided, are non-refundable, except where a refund is required by applicable law or results from a proven error in transaction processing. Before initiating a dispute, claim or chargeback with a payment provider, users are encouraged to contact L2Free through its official support channels to report any issue related to the transaction or delivery of the corresponding benefits. If a dispute or claim is initiated through a payment provider, L2Free may provide that provider with records related to the transaction, account, delivery of virtual benefits and other relevant information necessary to demonstrate fulfillment of the transaction and respond to the dispute. The final decision regarding a dispute processed by a payment provider rests with that provider in accordance with its own rules and procedures. Proven fraudulent or abusive use of payment dispute mechanisms may result in restrictions on the account or related services, without prejudice to other applicable measures.
9. TRADING BETWEEN PLAYERS
Transactions carried out between players within the game environment are the responsibility of the participants. The administration may provide internal mechanisms for trading and transferring items but does not guarantee private agreements made outside official systems. Transactions involving real money, external services or any other form of payment outside mechanisms expressly provided or authorized by L2Free are subject to the Server Rules. The administration may investigate movements of items, accounts or characters when there is suspicion of fraud, exploitation, rule violations or a need for support.
10. AVAILABILITY, MAINTENANCE AND CHANGES
L2Free may perform scheduled or emergency maintenance, restarts, updates, corrections and configuration changes whenever necessary. Interruptions may occur as a result of maintenance, technical failures, third-party services, infrastructure problems, attacks, updates or circumstances beyond the administration's reasonable control. Rates, events, rewards, systems, zones, NPCs, items, configurations, mechanics and other project characteristics may change over time. When appropriate, relevant changes will be communicated through L2Free's official channels.
11. SANCTIONS AND TERMINATION OF ACCESS
Failure to comply with these Terms of Service, the Server Rules or administration instructions may result in measures proportionate to the nature and severity of the violation. Such measures may include warnings, feature restrictions, mute, temporary suspension, removal of improperly obtained items, blocking of characters or accounts and, in serious or repeated cases, permanent bans. The administration may investigate accounts, characters, records and transactions related to a possible violation before or after applying a measure. Attempts to circumvent a punishment using other accounts, devices or means may result in additional measures. Specific punishments and criteria applicable to in-game activities are detailed in the Server Rules.
12. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Lineage II, its names, characters, images, trademarks, graphical elements and other related materials belong to their respective rights holders. L2Free is an independent project and is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by NCSOFT or other rights holders related to the game. Elements produced specifically for L2Free — including texts, its own visual identity, configurations, custom systems, code developed for the project and original materials — may not be reproduced, distributed or commercially used without authorization where protected by applicable rights. Use of the website or services does not transfer any intellectual property rights over these materials to the user.
13. THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND SERVICES
The L2Free website or official channels may contain links to or integrations with external services, including communication platforms, social networks, file-hosting services, payment providers and other services used by the community. These services are operated by third parties and may have their own terms, policies and privacy practices. L2Free does not control and is not responsible for the availability, content or operation of external services that are not under its administration.
14. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
L2Free services are provided subject to their technical availability. Although reasonable measures are taken to maintain the stability, security and integrity of the project, it is not possible to guarantee that the services will remain permanently free from interruptions, errors, failures, data loss or external interference. To the extent permitted by applicable law, L2Free and its team shall not be responsible for indirect losses resulting from temporary unavailability, technical failures, third-party services or improper use of accounts and services by the user. Nothing in this section is intended to exclude rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.
15. OFFICIAL COMMUNICATIONS AND SUPPORT
Important information regarding the operation of the project may be published through the L2Free website and official channels. Users are responsible for consulting these channels when necessary to keep informed about updates, maintenance, rule changes, events and other relevant announcements. Questions, account-related issues, reports or support requests should be submitted through the official support channels provided by L2Free. The team should never request a player's account password as a condition for providing support.
16. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
These Terms of Service may be updated whenever necessary to reflect changes to the project, services, operational practices or applicable requirements. The current version will be the version published on the official L2Free website. Relevant changes may be communicated through official channels. Continued use of the services after a new version becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms of Service, subject to rights provided by applicable law.
17. GENERAL PROVISIONS
If any provision of these Terms of Service is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the extent permitted. Failure to immediately enforce a particular rule or right does not constitute a permanent waiver of its enforcement. These Terms of Service should be read together with the Privacy Policy and Server Rules.
